- The Project: Book Publication & Marketing Campaign.
- Project Objective: Developed a series of large format photo-journalism books for retail sales to consumers in the U.S. market.
- Project SCOPE: Produced the book and marketing collateral in time for the Christmas holiday sales window and follow-on marketing. Developed and scheduled in-person book signing and sales events throughout the following calendar year.
- Responsibilities:
- Identified the project requirements, production resources, timeline and budget; collaborated with third party creative agency for milestone targets and concurrent website development.
- Managed the content creation, copywriting, page layouts and distribution of the large format book.
- Managed third party vendor relationship for the book’s design and overseas printing as well as marketing materials.
- Established relationships with media contacts for publicity of the finished book.
- Deliverables:
- Provided third party design agency with book design guidelines and layout mockups using Microsoft Publisher.
- Selection of 400+ photography images; sizing, color-correcting and delivery of high resolution images to the agency.
- Text creation, review and delivery of text to proofreader and design agency.
- Review page layout designs and provide feedback on layout proofs.
- Guided the development and execution of the publication’s marketing strategy and tactics using traditional and digital marketing channels, which included the design and programming of the e-commerce website.
- Provided asset development and deployment for postcards, flyers, calendar blow-in cards, posters for in-person marketing events.
- Scheduled in-person book signing events post-publication.
COMPLETION:
Book successfully completed on time for holiday ordering via the ecommerce website.
Completed fifteen in-person book signing events.
